Joe Marvelle, of Port Angeles, WA, coached his 7th-grade girls basketball team to a championship in the 2014-15 season. In 2015, he decided to provide a safe, covered practice facility for the team. He personally donated a 24′ x 36′ area of his warehouse to the cause but also sought sponsorship from area businesses for the flooring, wall padding and various equipment. When I heard he was looking for someone to render images of what that facility might look like fully furnished and sporting the sponsor’s logos, I quickly volunteered my services. He sent images of the existing structure and provided logos with suggestions about placement. I was delighted to furnish the renderings and be a part of this awesome cause. The response from Port Angeles businesses was overwhelming and construction was immediately underway. These girls deserve every bit of it and I’m proud to have been a participant.
